Certified Leadership & Diplomacy Practitioner (CLDP)
Seven modules online, a live assembly at the end, and a certificate anyone can check.
Leadership and diplomacy, put into practice
The Certified Leadership & Diplomacy Practitioner (CLDP) is a professional programme for young leaders who want to negotiate, persuade and represent others well. You study online at your own pace, write a leadership brief, a policy brief and a practitioner declaration, and finish in a live online session of a simulated African Youth General Assembly, where you represent a country, negotiate and take a resolution to a vote.
Pass, and you receive a numbered certificate that anyone can check online and that you can add to LinkedIn. It is awarded by the Young Global Leaders Network, with the curriculum designed by the European School of Business & Diplomacy.
The programme is being set up on our learning platform now. Register your interest and we will email you the day enrolment opens.
Study online
Modules one to six at your own pace, each with activities, a tutor moderated discussion and a short knowledge check.
Take the floor
Module seven is a live online assembly. You sit for a country, with a position paper as your mandate, and are marked on how you prepare, negotiate and conduct yourself.
Get certified
Your certificate is numbered and on a public register, so an employer can check it in seconds.
Graduate in Accra
Going to the Young African Leaders Summit 2027, 25 to 27 November 2027? You can take the practical on the floor of the African Youth General Assembly and graduate with the cohort.
Seven modules
Leadership in African Contexts
Where authority comes from, how it is kept, and leadership without flattening fifty four countries into one type.
The Architecture of African Diplomacy
Which bodies can bind a state and which can only recommend, and how to read a communiqué for what was actually agreed.
Negotiation and Representation
Mandates, interests and positions, and drafting, because the delegate who holds the pen shapes the outcome.
Policy Influence and Advocacy
Turning a topic into a problem you can act on, and writing a policy brief.
Public Communication and Cross-Cultural Practice
Speaking and writing for a room you do not control, including a ninety second maiden speech.
Ethics, Integrity and Public Trust
The awkward middle cases, and the Practitioner Declaration every graduate signs.
Diplomacy in Practice: The Online Assembly
The live practical: represent a country, caucus, table amendments and negotiate a resolution to a vote.
CLDP is a professional development certificate. It is not an academic qualification and carries no academic credit.
